Venice Beach, So Cal

Venice Beach
Friday, 8/10/2012, I had too much time on my hands, so I went to Venice beach. I love going there. It attracts all kinds of people; I like that. In order to avoid the Friday traffic I made my way out there around 6:30 in the evening, which accounts for the lighting. In order to give Venice its due I would have to invest at least a life time. This is just a few minutes.

Esta foto es propiedad de La Red de Mujeres de Matagalpa.
Es por estas valientes mujeres que me encontre en el Cenro Cultural
de Guanuca, sitio donde se reunen ellas y creo que forman parte de
el grupo Venancia.
A year ago, I went to Matagalpa, Nicaragua to do some work on my moms place.
I love the town, and made some time one day to photograph what attracts me to that town. I started walking from the south end  towards the north making a loop through the two main streets. These are a few photographs that I hope capture some of the life of that city I love so dearly.  The last photograph of the women in front of the cathedral is property of, Red De Mujeres De Matagalpa, a femenist group. Incredibly these gutsy women paraded up and down the main streets, just as you see them, in protest of the abuse suffered by women, their sign reads, my body is mine. It's because of this photograph that I made a pilgrimage to "El Centro Cultural De Guanuca" where they have their meetings, it's also a hot spot for national talent.
